Adopting one of our cats
PLEASE NOTE: We are open via appointment ONLY. The rescue is situated in a private home and is extremely busy during weekly working hours; we have regular daily duties to carry out. Many of our volunteers also work full time jobs and can only help out of normal hours. Currently we are adhering to social distancing rules so please contact us to discuss.
If you would like to enquire about any of our cats please fill out our adoption enquiry form and someone will be in touch with you.
If you would like to visit the rescue to meet our cats you are more than welcome to do so, please do get in touch first so we can arrange a viewing time due to us working full time jobs too. We will contact you to discuss a convenient time that suits both parties.
Our Adoption Process
Our policy is we do not home cats to anyone living on or near to a main road, or a railway line. This is for the cat’s safety. We carry out home checks to meet possible adoptees and check your environment meets our requirements. We appreciate not everyone likes the idea of a home check; however, we are not judging your home we are assessing its safety for our cats welfare.
We ask for your address initially making sure it is in a suitable location. If we believe it is unsuitable, we will let you know. Once we are happy your location is safe we can arrange a home check that’s suite. If everything goes well we can discuss available cats that may be suitable and arrange to come meet them. Finally once a match is made we will ask you to fill out an adoption form.
Our Adoption Fees
All cats adopted from Ally Cats have been checked by a vet, neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and treated for fleas, ticks and worms. Our adoption fee helps to cover part of these costs. This basic care of any cat coming into rescue can cost us in excess of £200 each and that’s before we add in costs of food, litter and any additional vet care. We ask for an adoption fee of £65 for adult cats and £75 for kittens, which is just a fraction of what we have paid out. This enables us to carry on our work of rescuing unwanted and abandoned cats. All our mums and babies are looked after by a Foster mum with care and support. We assess their characters and needs while in care, up to the age of 12 weeks old. We never home a kitten under the age of 8 weeks.
